The LIA Launches TM65.2 Assured Product & Company Schemes to Strengthen Confidence in Embodied Carbon Reporting
As sustainability expectations continue to increase across the built environment and infrastructure sectors, the need for transparency and credibility in carbon reporting also grows. The schemes have been developed to drive consistency in reporting, increase market credibility and confidence in assured products and companies, level the playing field and reduce greenwash potential.
Unlike self-declared claims, the schemes operate through a rigorous third-party assessment process delivered by The LIA Laboratory. Assessment includes product disassembly and detailed evaluation of components, materials and weights, assembly locations, energy consumption, and tonnage calculations of produced goods.
The LIA brings lighting-specific technical expertise to the verification process, ensuring assessments align precisely with the TM65.2 methodology and reflect real-world lighting design and manufacturing practices.

Both will be delivered through The LIA Laboratory, which is ISO 17065 accredited, the internationally recognised standard that defines how certification bodies must operate to ensure impartiality, technical validity and globally accepted decision-making. The laboratory is also UKAS and IECEE accredited, reinforcing confidence in the certification process.
