UlverSTEM with Forge: Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers
As a local manufacturer and engineering business, it was a brilliant opportunity for us to engage with children from the local area and share a glimpse into what engineering and technology can look like beyond the classroom.
Bringing STEM to Life
Throughout the day, we ran an interactive stall designed to spark curiosity and encourage questions. Rather than focusing on complex theory, we aimed to make science feel accessible, practical and fun.
Children were able to get hands on with real components, see how light behaves in different applications, and learn how technology is used to solve everyday problems. It was fantastic to watch them grow in confidence as they asked questions, experimented with what was in front of them and started to make connections between what they learn at school and how it applies in the real world.
Why Events Like UlverSTEM Matter
At Forge, we believe that early exposure to STEM is vital. Events like UlverSTEM play a huge role in helping young people understand the breadth of careers available to them and that engineering is creative, collaborative and impactful.
For many children, this may have been their first interaction with a manufacturing or technology business. If even a handful left feeling more curious, more confident, or more excited about science and engineering, then the day was a success.
Supporting Our Local Community
Being part of the local community is important to us, and UlverSTEM was a great reminder of how valuable it is when businesses, schools and educators come together. We were proud to represent Forge and to support an event that puts future skills, curiosity and learning at its heart.
A big thank you to the organisers, staff and students at Ulverston Victoria High School for such a welcoming and well run event.
Looking Ahead After UlverSTEM
We hope to continue supporting initiatives like UlverSTEM in the future and to keep playing our part in inspiring the next generation of engineers, designers and problem solvers.
