IEC/EN 60598-2-22 Emergency Luminaire Safety Requirements

As a potentially life critical product, emergency lighting must operate safely and function as intended. This product focused course takes you through the design and testing requirements of the luminaire safety standard to help you understand the safety and performance aspects required of emergency luminaires and their components.

Covering aspects such as component selection, certification and test, product compliance and quality and the legal requirements for placing a product on the market, this course uses product and quality certification specialists to deliver insights into products based on years of experience.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This course is designed to suit designers, manufacturers, importers of emergency lighting. Technical staff in lighting companies supplying emergency lighting. Compliance / Quality Managers. and approvals staff assessing emergency lighting products.

HOW IS IT DELIVERED?

The course is delivered via presentations in a classroom setting or online.

Understand the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-1, 2-22 and 2-2.

Two days: 09.30am - 16.30pm

ASSESSMENT

The learners are not assessed on this course.

PROGRESSION

Students can take their learning to the next level by completing other technical training such as our Lighting Legislation, Compliance Control & Production Testing and LIAQA Training on Module 7 (Factory Audit).

Andy is an experienced electrical / electronic engineer working with the LIA since 2003, with a technical engineering background and extensive experience in supply chains from manufacturing through to end use, Andy is well placed to understand the challenges faced by all areas of the lighting industry.

Engagement with manufacturers, support organisations and individuals in the lighting industry is a key aspect of Andy’s role. Through his work with LIA quality system audits and support, alongside his role as part of the LIA training team, he has a strong focus on ensuring members of the lighting fraternity are conversant with latest legislative requirements and best practice.

Through working closely with both the laboratory and other members of the LIA technical team, and being an active member of several LIA technical committees and external regulatory committees Andy has an excellent knowledge of standards, legislation and compliance which is key to supporting LIA members and the ongoing professional development within the industry.
