Highways England are designing their projects using BIM, which provides them with a comprehensive asset management resource that will have the ability to connect to local authority controlled networks.

The LIA UK Pavilion focuses again on Light Middle East

Building on the past successes of the Lighting Industry Association (LIA) and with its status as a Department for International Trade Challenge Partner the LIA will return for its fourth year to Light Middle East 2016 (17-19 October, Dubai) with its UK Pavilion.

The winner of Delight in Light was announced on the 31st January 2017. The accolade of Lighting Designer 2015/2016 and prize money of £1,000 went to Jimin Jeon from Northumbria University for her task light entitled L0.

LIA Certificate now ready for Industry’s Bright and Exciting Future

The LIA Certificate has a long and respected history. Not only has it prepared thousands of lighting professionals for their career in the industry, but it has also supported those wanting to specialise and advance in a range of different areas.

Ready for 2017 the LIA has completed major investment in revising and re-developing the LIA Certificate to meet the expectations and demands of the rapidly changing lighting industry and widening lighting community. The new modular format LIA Certificate is structured as:

How many times has the lighting industry come together to discuss, criticise even try to find a solution for the poor quality, non-compliant products entering the UK market un-checked, creating confusion and unfair competition?

Too many... So, in an unprecedented move to prove the quality of their products, January 2017 will see ALL LIA Members commit to participate in an industry-wide market surveillance initiative. This initiative will include random inspection and testing of member’s products - the first of its kind by a lighting trade association
