Join the Lighting Industry Academy as we look into lighting

The Lighting Industry Academy ‘popped up’ at Lux Live this year. Here the LIA delivered an educational programme, where delegates gained a greater understanding of the key aspects of the lighting industry.

We held two mornings of educational sessions, targeted at the Lux Live audience. The sessions helped provide the right level of understanding to support the choosing and using of the fantastic lighting products on show at the exhibition.

Due to its success and demand from the industry, the LIA are re-running the sessions for one day only.

One year on - Have you seen the light?

28 September 2016 saw the Lighting Industry Academy (Academy) open its doors to the industry. Its aim being to work together with the industry to provide a hub of learning for the lighting community.

One year on and the Academy are proud to have taught over 800 students at its purpose built facility in Telford and created a learning portfolio encompassing the full spectrum of lighting..

Join the Class of 2017

A major step forward for education in the lighting industry, this HNC provides the recognised learning that will retain and attract talent in our industry.

For this, its inaugural year the HNC will run as a part time course, across two years, cleverly designed and scheduled so that it can be completed while fully employed in the industry.

This first ever HNC in lighting being taught in the UK through the LIA and University of South Wales (USW), has been validated by the industry, with some the key players in lighting already enrolling students.

The recent announcement by the Lighting Industry Association (LIA), that this September will see the first ever qualifications in lighting at the level of Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) being taught in the UK, has been welcomed by leading lighting manufacturer Tamlite Lighting.
