LIA Lampholder Conformity Scheme


This certification scheme has been developed in accordance with the LIA Laboratory’ Product Certification System, which is detailed in the Product Certification System Document. The scheme is operated in accordance with the LIA Laboratory’ Quality and Operations Manuals. The purpose of this scheme is to assess the compliance of lampholders and associated accessories with the essential safety requirements of EN 60238 (state of the art) and EN 61184 (state of the art), for domestic or commercial use.

Applicants who have been assessed and meet the requirements of the scheme are granted certification and may use the certification mark. Voluntary certification to this scheme gives third party confirmation of the manufacturer’s declaration in accordance with the European Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.


This scheme has been developed by the LIA Laboratory Limited as a basis of conformity assessment of lampholders. It should be used in accordance with EN 60238 and EN 61184 appropriate to the exact product(s) being assessed. This scheme covers lampholders that fall under the scope of EN 60238 and EN 61184. The requirements and related tests of this scheme include: classification, marking, mechanical construction, electrical construction, type testing and factory production control.
